Catrice - Be My Millionaire and Maybelline - Shooting stars

I bought Catrice for a swap and later decided I won't send it, so it stayed with me. And yesterday when deciding which polish to wear I played a game - I randomly choose a polish to wear with my eyes closed. Yes, I do that a lot... So the Catrice was chosen, and I put it on. It's so boring and frosty that I didn't even take pics of it. After like half an hour I had to put something on, and I remembered Karen sent me some great layering polishes. Finally I decided on Maybelline's Shooting Stars. It's holo glitter and blue tiny stringy glitter in a clear base. I love it! It really made my mani interesting, and I couldn't stop looking at it. The pics are a little bland though, because I took them under artificial light. But you can still see all the great stuff going on on my nails:)

Catrice - Red Blossom

For all of you who were worried about me, stop. I'm ok, I already took the pink polish off:)

Today I'm wearing one of my favourites from Catrice. It's called Red Blossom, and it's from the discontinued line of 60 seconds Nail Couture. I regret not buying more of these when I had the chance. I got some thanks to Mamy from Parokeets - she's awsome! Anyway, the polishes from this line have great brushes, great opacity, great consistency, great staying power.. They're great:)

Enough blaberring, here are the pics. Two coats, no top coat. Still some VNL, but I applied really thin layers cause I was in a hurry and wanted it to dry as quickly as possible.

On another topic: it's been really hot here. And they say that it's going to get even hotter. I'm not made for this heat, I'm melting. I just wish it was around 25 degrees celsius, not around 40. I wish for rain. I wish for fall, or spring, or even winter. Or for airconditioning :)

Catrice - Clay-ton, My Hero (&I cried a little)

First, why I cried... It seems most of the other nail bloggers manage to keep their nails at a certain lenght all the time. I don't have the discipline or whatever to file my nails overy day or so, so I usually just let them grow until they're too long and them file them down real short, then let them grow back long and so on. Besides, I'm clumsy. I'm sure to break a nail if I let them be too long. So, every three weks or so comes the dreaded day - the day I shorten my nails. Oh dear:( Today was that day again. I love having somewhat longer nails, but (being clumsy and all that) I really can't have them that way. Not now at least, when my days are comprised mostly of manual labour or typing on the computer - both of which I can't do with long nails. I know most of you have onger nails than I do when I consider them long, and I seriously admire you for that. How you do any work and not be bothered by nails or break them is beyond me (it's an art I have yet to master). So, today I shortened my nails. And cried just a little bit (on the inside of course). On the plus side, I tried filing them a little differently than usual, I'll see if I like it.

I wanted to polish them with a more calm polish, not an in your face sort of colour. I chose one of my untrieds, Catrice's Clay-ton, My Hero. It's a light brown with golden shimmer - pure beauty:) It took two coats and dried really quickly!

I'm almost finished with my studies, just have one oral exam and two diploma theses to write. So today I decided to do a quick run through drugstores in my town to see if any had anything new or anything I "need" :) I'm very pleased with the result - I got most of my "needs" and some more, and only spent about 20€. I have a nice and cheap hobby obviously:)

Catrice Nougat praline

I have another bunch of Catrice polishes from the 60 seconds Nail couture line. It's just my luck that they've discontinued the line when I fell in love with it... But anyway, my mini haul was sent to my by the super-nice Mamy of Parokeets.

Today I'm wearing Nougat Praline. It's one of those polishes that are subtle, but in a way also great. A lovely nougaty-pinky colour with teeny tiny golden shimmer. I also love the application. Two coats, great consistency, even greater brush. Love it, and I totally recommend you grab any polish from this line if you have the luck to see them somwhere, because I haven't found a single one that dissapointed me so far.

Test - kateri lakci delujejo s konadom?

Kot sem že omenila, danes ni moj dan. Ker sem bila popolnoma neproduktivna, sem se odločila da poizkusim, kateri laki delujejo za konadiranje. Za nameček sem poskusila še konad z mat lakom od Jessice. Te slike nimam, ker se mi je ob izvajanju tega pol lakca polilo po računalniku, najljubši Dan D majici in po vsem, kar je bilo na mizi. Smrk smrk:(

As I mentioned before, today is not my day. And since I wasn't doing anything productive, I decided to try some polishes with konad plates. As an added bonus I tried konading with Jessica matte top coat, which failed miserably, because I spilled the polish over my computer, table and my favourite t-shirt from a local band :(

Catrice Pastel blue

Žal sem zadnje čase popolnoma zakopana v delo in nimam časa objavljati. Prišlo je celo do te mere, da sem danes šla na neko zadevo z veliko ljudmi z nenalakiranimi nohti *gasp* Našla pa sem eno malo starejšo slikico lakca, ki mi je nekje srednje všeč. Barva je ok, nanos in sušenje pa me nista preveč navdušila. Gre za Catrice Pastel blue iz Pastel delight LE.

I'm sorry that i'm so swamped with work lately and I haven't got time to publish posts. I have so little time I actually attended a thing today with "naked" nails *gasps*. But I did find an old photo of a manicure with Catrice Pastel blue from the Pastel delight LE. I don't really like this polish, the colour is ok, but the application is a dread.

Catrice Black Beauty

Danes moje nohte krasi Catrice lak, ki ni več v prodaji - Black Beauty. Če bi vedela, da so laki iz serije 60 second nail couture tako super, bi si jih vse nakupila ko sem imela priložnost, tako pa imam doma žal samo dva. No, o tem laku: čopič je malo sploščen in ravno prav dolg, da je nanos čista poezija. Na slikah se vidi, kako lepo mi ga je uspelo nanesti - nobenega clean-upa:) Nanesla sem dva sloja, a bi z malo potrpežljivosti in natančnosti najverjetneje zadostoval že en. Suši se ekspresno! Barva je prelepa, temno rjava z rdečkastimi in zlatimi bleščicami. V senci bleščanje sploh ni očitno, takoj ko lak pride na vsaj malo svetlobe pa dobi neverjetno globino in blesk. Torej, slike:

Today I have Catrice Black Beauty as my NOTD - it's a polish that's gone out of sale. If I knew this line of polishes was so great, I would have bought all of them when I had the chance. Now sadly I only own two. Sometnih about the polish itself: the brush is slightly flattened and just the right lenght - I managed to apply the polish neatly, as you can see on the pictures. No clean-up neccessary:) There are two lyers, but you could probably manage with only one if you have the patience and precision it takes. It also dries very quickly. The colour is beautiful, a dark brown with shimmer in gold and red, that just comes alive when in the light. So, the photos:

Malo prej pa sem se odločila za velik eksperiment - po dolgem času sem spet poiskala konad škatlico. Uporabila sem Essence Romeo in konad platko m56. Tole je rezultat:

Just now i decided to conduct a big experimet - after a long time I took out my konad box. I used Essence Romeo and konad m56 plate. And the result is:

Dvojčka Catrice&Essence / Dupes

Niti pomislila nisem na to, da bi si lahko kdaj kupila lak, ki je zelo podoben enemu od tistih, ki jih že imam. Ampak ja, zgodi se tudi najboljšim:) Včeraj me je očaral novi Essence Colour&Go lak What Do U Think?. Ko pa sem prišla domov, sem se udarila po glavi in ugotovila, da je skoraj identičen I Scream Peach! od Catrice. Po nanosu na nohte pa sem ugotovila, da ni skoraj identičen, ampak je popolnoma identičen! Kot da bi si nanašala enak lak. Razlike med njima praktično ni - konsistenca je enaka, nanašanje enako, sušenje enako, oba potrebujeta tri sloje, da sta popolnoma prekrivna. Po prvem sloju je mogoče še opazna mini razlika, potem pa se izgubi. In tako ima tudi Fleur po novem dvojčka. Mogoče bi pa bilo treba organizirati kak Giveaway, da se ga znebim:)

I never even thought possible that I could buy a polish of an identical colour to the ones I already own. But, it happened:) Yesterdaj I was dazzled by the beautiful new Essence Colour&Go polish What Do U Think?. But when I came home I realised it's a dupe for Catrice's I Scream Peach!. The application goes the same, they both need three coats, they dry the same. Maybe there's a tiny difference in colour with the first layer, but the second evens that out. So, I have dupes now. Maybe it's time for a giveaway to get rid of one:)

Vsi vemo, kako težko je slikati takšne odtenke. Recimo, da sem zadovoljna za barvami na teh slikah. Spet, slika na naravni svetlobi ni na soncu, ker ga ni:(

Catrice From dusk to dawn with a twist :)

Danes sem za umirjeno manikuro, zato je na nohte najprej romal Catrice From Dusk To Dawn, ki sem ga nadgradila z Jessica No Shine Top Coatom.

I'm easy going today, so I have a subtle manicure. I applied Catrice From Dusk To Dawn and added some Jessica No Shine Top Coat.



Kot ostali Catrice lakci se nanaša odlično, hitro suši, potrebna sta dva sloja.

Like the rest of Catrice polishes application is great, quick drying and two layers.

Kljub želji po umirjeni manikuri je bilo vseeno preveč dolgočasno, zato sem dodala črto z Essence Nail Art tip painterjem v odtenku Silver Surfer. Na kazalec pa sem dodala še majhno rožico.

Despite my desire for a calmer manicure, it was too boring, so I added a line with Essence Nail Art tip painter in Silver Surfer and a tiny flower.

Temno rjavi lakci /Dark brown polishes

Nekaj časa nazaj sem strmela v svojo zbirko in se odločila, da bom, ko bom imela čas, na hitro poswatchala svojo zbirko. Danes sem se posvetila nekaj temno rjavim odtenkom. Slike so s flashem, razen makro shimmerja v Spicy je pod umetno svetlobo, ampak je tudi temu dodana mini slikica shimmerja pod flashem.

Some time ago I decided to take some time and swatch my polish collection. Today I focused on dark browns and I quicky smired them on my nails. All pictures are with flash, accept for the Spicy one, which is taken under artificial light, but has a mini photo of the shimmer under flash too.

Vsi so naneseni v dveh slojih. Najmanj težav mi je povzročala Catrice, Rockabilly in Very diva pa sta za nanašanje zelo težavna, mogoče bi potrebovala malo thinnerja. Kot vidite, sta Spicy in black beauty shimmrasta laka, vendar ima Spicy zelo majhne delce shimmra, ki se sveti predvsem zlato, Black beauty pa ima večje delce shimmra, ki odsevajo rdeče do zlato. All polishes are applied in two coats. Catrice was the least troublesome, Rockabilly and Very diva were terrible and I think they might need some thinner. As you can see, Spicy and Black beauty have shimmer. Spicy has small golden shimmer particles, and Black beauty has larger, reddish to gold particles. And some close-ups:

Tip wear hitro popravilo / Tip wear quick fix

En hiter nasvet - kako zakriti tip wear. Danes dopoldne sem se ukvarjala z gospodinjskimi opravili, česar Catrice lak ni najbolje prenesel. Potem pa se mi je mudilo na kavo, in seveda kot pravi obsedenec z urejenostjo nohtov ne morem iti od doma z belimi in okrušenimi konicami. Situacijo sem na hitro popravila z Essence Bubble bubble iz LE Into the Ocean. Kako, kaže slika. Barvna kombinacija mi ni všečna, ampak naj bo. Bo vsaj izgovor, da si zvečer namažem kakšen drug lak :) Na mezincu pa je eksperiment od včeraj, ko sem testirala nek no-name lak z bleščicami iz kitajske trgovine;)

A quick advice - how to cover up tip wear. I was doing chores in the morning and my Catrice polish didn't take it well. It started showing tip wear and peeling. As a true nail polish addict i can't leave home without perfect nails, so I had to fix it rapidly as I was already late for coffee. I used Essence Bubble bubble from Into the Ocean LE. The picture below shows what I did. I'm not happy with the colour combination, but OK. At least I have an excuse to repolish my nails tonight:) Oh, and on the little finger is yesterday's experiment with some no name polish from the local chinese store;)

Catrice I Sea You!

Ni ga lepšega kot med delom narediti pavzo za lakiranje nohtov:) Na nohte je romal Catrice I Sea You!. Poslikala sem ga komaj komaj, saj je zelo sramežljiv lak. Nikakor mi ni uspelo ujeti prave barve. Še najbližje je barvi v desnem kvadratku, ampak mogoče še kakšen odtenek bolj zelen. Slika je na soncu:

There's nothing better than taking a break from work to polish your nails:) I put on Catrice I Sea You!, but I had problems taking photos and getting the colour to be real. The closest I got is shown in the right corner, but I'm still not satisfied. It's more greenish in RL. This picture is taken in the sunshine:

Na splošno mi je lakec super, sploh glede na ceno (cca 2,5€). Lepo se nanaša, če bi bila previdna bi mogoče zadoščal že en sloj, ampak sem vseeno nanesla dva. Suši se povprečno dolgo. Ampak barva je pa odlična! In pa da ne pozabim omeniti stekleničke in čopiča - oba sta perfektna. Čopič je malo sploščen, kar meni zelo ustreza.

Generally speaking i like this polish, especially considering the price, which is about 2,5€. Painting goes smoothly, if I would have been carefull it would probably only need one layer, but I applied two just in case. Drying time is average. But I have to mention the bottle and brush. The brush is slightly flattened and I love it!

Catrice nove pridobitve / Catrice haul

Včeraj me je poštar razveselil s paketkom, v katerem so bili štirje čudoviti lakci Catrice (ki se jih pri nas ne da dobiti). Zahvala gre seveda Mamy od Parokeets, ki je večino slovenskih obsedenk z lakci oskrbela z najbolj zaželenimi Catrice laki. Moje želje so bile sicer ogromne, ampak sem se omejila na štiri lake. In ja, sedaj mi je žal:)Na spletni strani Catrice si lahko ogledate vse nove odtenke lakov. Vse bi imela ;)

Yesterday I got a fabulous package in the mail - four Catrice nail polishes, which you can't buy in Slovenia. As with most of Slovenian polish freaks, I have to thank Mamy from Parokeets for buying and sending the polishes. I managed to limit myself to only four polishes, even though I wouldn't mind having them all :) You can see the new colours of polishes on the official Catrice website.
