Back with a project

Hi all... It's 8 years later and I'm back :) I revived this blog more or less for my private use, but of course, you're all welcome to follow it. I've made it my mission to go through my nail polish stash. I have around 1000 polishes of all ages and brands, so expect a wild ride:) First today, an Essence polish from a limited edition Valentine Who Cares? In the colour Blah Blah Blah. It took two layers to look good and dried semi matte.

Nicole by OPI - Leaf me alone

I love duochromes, they're a great distraction from work when i need one:)

This is quite sheer, so i layered it over a coat of some brown polish, I can't remember which. Two layers ob LMA and look at the result! I actually got compliments on this one, and I don't usually get compliments..

Nice, right? What's your favourite duochrome? (yes, I need more:) )

Nubar - Earth

I read about Nubar being one of the best brands many many times. I didn't have any, so I struggled not to believe it:) Now I'm a believer. Chris sent me this polish, and the formula is great. The application is great. The colour is magnificent. The bottle is lovely. It's just perfect!

Ciate - Ditch the heels

I also got this one from Maja at Licila.si. She said she doesn't like it, so she gave me hers. I really don't understand, how can you not like this polish? Of course I didn't say that out loud, the important thing is that this baby is now with me :))

It took two coats, dried nicely and wore great. I had it on for 4 days and it didn't chip, just some tip wear. I definitely recommend this!

China Glaze - Entourage and Barry M - Instant Nail Effect

Yes! I'm finally back to blogging! I found a lamp in my living room that I can take almost decent pictures with, so better than nothing.

Here's a mani I was sporting at the beginning of this week. China Glaze - Entourage, topped with Barry M crackle polish. ChG would take at least three polishes to look ok enough to wear alone, but I got away with two because I put the crackle polish over it. I didn't put any top coat on, because I wanted the crackle polish to stay matte. Consequently, the black started falling off in pieces in matter of hours. Damn was I angry :S

Eyeko - Military Polish

I just had to show you this! I apologise, my camera still isn't repaired, so pics are extremely crappy, as I took them with my cell phone and under artificial light. But the colour of the polish is surprisingly accurate, so I decided to post them anyway. I'll make it up to you with a post about a great blue polish I wore a while ago with great pics:)

Anyway, I love Eyeko, especially their polishes. I bought this polish, and I got an Ambassador welcome pack with it, as I signed up for an Ambassador. It contained a lip gloss called London Lips, which I also adore and been wearing it a lot lately. I'll do a proper review when I get my camera (again with the camera... I didn't realize until now how lost I am without that thing!). I'm blabbering again, so back to the polish. It's unique in my stash, I have nothing alike. It applied very nicely - the first coat was streaky as usual, but the second coat really evened it out and made it opaque. I love twocoaters:) And the colour is exactly what I'd call camouflage brown/green. Another Eyeko win;)

EDIT: Just as I posted this, the sun came out, so I took two pics in the sun too. Again, crappy crappy, but quite colour accurate on the polish.

China Glaze - Wagon Trail

Loooooooove! Two coats, crappy pics. This is an old set of pics, taken at night under my desk lamp. I just had to post them anyway, I remembered how much I love this polish. It's a dark olive base with gold shimmer. Love, again. The tip wear is after a couple of days wear, so yay for that too. And konading is done with Essence Stampy polish in white.

Claire's Mood - happy/earthy

I really love the idea of Mood polishes, but they just don't seem to love me back. I almost begged this one to treat me nice, but it didn't. Darn.

I think this is five or six coats, I have no idea what happened. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get it to even out. And then I tried thinning it, and I thinned it too much, and it became runny, and now it was blah. I've unthinned it sice, by opening the bottle for about half an hour and mixing it a lot. Now the formula is sort of ok.

Anyway, a pic in the sun and two pics with flash. Yes, it's that neon:)

Models Own - Emerald City

I was sure I'd love this one. But guess what? I don't. And I have no idea why:)

This is three coats, one of the fingers is with Matte Magic TC to see if I like it better matte. I do, but still not enough to hold on to it. This polish already found a new owner, hope she likes it better than me:)

I have to tell you, these pics are slightly edited, to get the green to show. My pics were too blue, and I tried to correct that. Will need some more practice though :)

Orly - Space Cadet

OH MAN!! When I put it on, I thought.. Meh, can't see what all the fuss is about. But the next morning when I saw it in decent lighting... WOW!! Karen, tons of thanks to you for this one!

It did take four coats though.. The green base kept showing and the VNL.. I could have stopped at three.

Franken win:)

I seem to go MIA a lot these days, sorry:)

Now, I make quite a lot of frankens, but I rarely like them enough to post them here. This one is one of the good ones:) It's a really dusty, almost grey green with silver shimmer and a flakie here and there. I only wish there were more flakes, but that can be fixed:)

I know I used Essence's Glisten Up! as a base, and added a green creme and a yellow creme, then something and something and Hidden Treasure, then some BarryM Dazzle Dust eyeshadow in Grey, and probably something else as well. Overall, I love it!

Jordana - Rich Green

I'm feeling sort of worn out, so no meaningless talk today.

This polish is an unexpected jackpot. It applied really nicely, the colour is vibrant, and it took two coats to be opaque.
