H&M Aquatini

Guess what? There was actually some sun yesterday, so I have sort of sunny pics:)

This polish has been sitting in my stash for at least a year and I haven't worn it before. I have no idea why, just look at the lovely blue with shimmer! I did have a huge problem with chipping though - it chipped in a matter of hours, sort of like the Zoya mattes. It looks like it's only going to be ok for short work days unfortunately.

China Glaze - For Audrey

Yes, finally I managed to take pics of my nails and post them:)

China Glaze - For Audrey was a long long time lemming for me, and I finally got it a month or so back. I totally forgot I even had it until I randomly stumbled upon it in my drawer. Of course I put it on immediately:) It took three coats to even out, I suspect it was my fault and it usually takes two:) I topped it with China Glaze Fast Forward - I'm testing it to see if it could replace Seche Vite, because it is much more easily accesible to me than SV. A terrible thing has happened you see - I ran out of Seche. That totally has a part in my lack of manicures:(

Anyway, enough crying. Pics (after three days of wearing, so not bad at all):

Claire's - Chunky Blue

I've obviously been on a lucky streak, I've been choosing only great polishes from my stash to wear:)

This is a perfect blue jelly with silver glitter and large hexagonal particles. Love it. Need the purple and green version too:)

Milani - Molten Rock & Matte Magic

One of those polishes that look great in the bottle, but leave you speechless when you put them on. I wore this a couple of time in the last month, and that's saying a lot considering my stash :))

After a day of wearing it I decided to put Matte Magic on. I love this one even more.

Loooooooooooveeeeeeeee! :))

Which one do you prefer?

Maybelline - Pie in the Sky

I wore this one for a family get-together. I remember choosing it because I thought it's an appropriate colour - a nice soft pastel, nothing too blingy or shocking. And guess what? I got at least ten comments on them, all of them saying my nails are super bright, "look at her nails is she crazy to wear that", "OMG I'd never wear that in public" and alike. Am I crazy, is this not a nice pastel shade? I mean, I have much much brighter blues in my stash :)

Three coats plus SV. Despite everything, I love the colour and will definitely wear it again. Thanks to KarenD :)

Models Own - Beth's Blue

i've been really busy, I feel like my mind wants to explode, and at the same time I feel like I'm depressed all over again. I want to crawl into bed, cry and be there for a week. Maybe that's what I'll do during the holidays. Just a litle more than a month away.

This polish I put on because it seemed so calming. A light blue pastel shade, like the sky. Guess what? It pi***d me off. It needed serious thinning before it could be applied, and even then it wasn't dreamy at all. Bleh. But the colour's nice.

Essence - Underwater and SH layering

I was at the drugstore yesterday and this lovely polish caught me off guard, so I had to have it:) I also have the "old" version of Underwater - it's a frosty/shimmery blue. Tish one is a dusty dark blue with sparse blue glitter that doesn't really show on the nails. It does on my pics though, because I had to take them with flash as there is no natural light because of crappy weather. I like the "new" version better!

And I had to put something to satisfy my bling addiction over it - Sally Hansen In the Spotlight. Stringy holo glitter in a clear base. Haven't decided yet if I like it or not:)

China Glaze - Secret Peri-Wink-Le

I don't know about you, but having nail polish that matches my clothes on makes me feel more presentable, neat, elegant. I had a pretty important meeting this morning, and I dressed up. I needed to do a quick mani, and this one was on my desk, because I just got it yesterday - second hand polish FTW:) I thought: Hey, ChG, this must be a great polish! and it matched my blazer prefectly! So, one coat... two coats... THREE COATS?!? NO! 4! Damn you secret periwinkle! And I love the colour soooo much, it's the perfect colour if you ask me. But seriously, what's with the formula? I sort of suspect it was thinned out before I got it:( EDIT: I found out from the previous owner it WAS NOT thinned out. So I blame China Glaze for the crappy formula now.

And here are the pics. See how it looks I have a centimeter of polish on my nails? *sigh*

I have a question for all of you more experienced gals - if a polish is too runny or watery, is there a way to thicken it? Like leaving it opened/uncapped for an hour of so?

L.A. Girl Rock Star - Overdose

Before I start, I have to warn you. If you're against bling blingy nails or have some sort of sensitive eyes, skip this post:)

This is one of the polishes I got myself as a present for my degree. It's super blingy, and it's basically blue, pink and silver glitter in a clear base. Because of the clear base it took four coats to get somewhat good coverage. Next time I think I'll use a cream purple base underneath. But it's still great! It's blingy in a weird way - you can see all the different coloured glitters and still they come together into a sigle perfection glitter polish... Ah, the polish love:)

Anyway, pics:

And a blurred one, so you can see all the sparkling going on:

Then, I had to try it matte:) First I did a line over my nails with different matte top coats, but I seriusly can't remember which nail is which top coat. As you can see it doesn't matter anyway as the effect is the same with all three. I used Jessica - No shine finish, Essence - Matt top coat and China Glaze - Matte magic.

Don't like it? No worries, I didn't either. So I mattified whole nails. I have to say I like this version the most. No matte top coat can prevent this one from shining, but it does tone down the shine a bit, and sort of unifies the polish. It's not so much INYOURFACEBLING!! anymore, but still sparkly and great!

Which version do you like the best?

Hema - 10 with Sinful - Hottie

I wore this some time ago, but found the pics in my "waiting to be published" folder today and thought I'd show them to you.

First up is Hema nr.10. Seriously, is it that had to pick a name for a polish? Shimmering Blue or something like that would be fine with me, it's way better than numbers. Anyway, the polish. This took two coats. It's not a very original colour, I'm sure I have dupes in my collection.

Because I found it somewhat boring I layered Sinful Colors - Hottie over it. Now that's more like it:) Tha glittery love fest that is Hottie made my day:) I wore this for a few days without getting bored - can you imagine? The pics were taken on the third day, so a little tip wear is showing.

Essence - My Boyfriend's Jeans

I've been feelin totally crappy these days, that's why you didn't get these swatches on sooner, and that's why you get no blabbering today.

This polish is from the new Essence TE Denim Wanted!, it's a dark creme blue, really a must have. Two coats:)

Essence - Shocking Blue

I found this one in my usual drugstore, on sale. The poor polish was totally separated, so I felt sort of heroic when I bought it - after all, who else was going to buy it in that horrible state? :)) I gave in a good mix and shake, and out came this beauty. The colour is accurate!
