Essence - Sun Downer

It's been really hectic around me lately... Nothing seems to be going as I planned:( I wanted a bright colour to counter my mood, so I chose this one. I don't think I ever wore it before. It's from a trend edition that was released in the start of summer if I remember correctly, Return to Paradise. A vibrant orange with hints of gold shimmer, two coats, no TC.

CCUK - Apricot Sun

Huh, I'm finally back. I had a crazy couple of days... During the weekend I was in Bohinj (really a must if you're ever in Slovenia!), because a couple of my friends attended a triathlon and a bunch of us went with them for support. Then on Moday I had my diploma thesis defence, and I passed with flying colours! Yay for me:)

Then, when I was relaxing, my parents came to tell me my darling three legged cat passed away, so the day ended in tears:( I take comfort in knowing he passed away from a stroke, quickly and peacefuly. I'm already planning on becoming a temporary custodian for cats from a local animal shelter, housing them until they find a new owner. I figured I love animals, that's the best way to help lots of them.

Anyway, enough about my life, let's get back to nails:) I have a bunch of swatches to show you. First up is CCUK - Apricot Sun. This is three coats, and a really stunning colour. An orange base with gold shimmer that makes the colour really pop! Love it!

Joy - 101

If you have sensitive eyes, look away. This one is very bright. You have been warned.

Orange neon. I never pictured myself wearing something like this. Hm, this "project" of mine might make me rethink my polish preferences:)

Since it's a neon, I put a base of a white polish on two nails, and the other two pictured are bare. Again, watch it, this really pops. For some reason, my super duper camera didn't want to catch the neon in this, it kept photographing it reddish, even though I practically begged. Then I pulled out my emergency mini camera and it did the job perfectly:) The pics are of a lesser quality, but all that matters is the neon:)

Yes, you guessed correctly. I have never worn a polish this bright before:)

Essence Return to Paradise & a Flormar

I got a great package today - from Parokeets! I won their Facebook giveaway and got three polishes from the Return To Paradise TE from Essence, and a bonus polish - Flormar 391. I'm really busy packing and getting things together, because I'm leaving on holiday tomorrow. But that didn't stop me from swatching the polishes :)

First up is My little orchid. A gorgeous violet with shimmer, but luckily not frosty, just shimmery. Two coats in the pic.

Fruit punch is a great summery colour - a rich orange with glassy sort of flecs that shimmer like hell when in the sun! Two coats.

Are you ready? Next up is Back to paradise. A gorgeous dark green jelly! You gotta love it. It took three coats though, and as you can see I was really sloppy with the third coat *blush*

And the bonus polish. My first Flormar, nr. 391. A gorgeous dark grey with silver shimmer or glassy flecks, I can't decide. I was so surprised - the first coat looked very runny and sheer, but the second coat took care of all that, so there are only two coats on the picture.

And as an experiment, I topped two nails with Jessica's No Shine TC. Here's the result:

I think both versions look spectacular:)

Thanks again to Parokeets, you girls rock!

Pure Ice - Hot tamale

I haven't got many untrieds, about 5 at any time. I felt like experimenting today, so I pulled out one of them - a shiny orange one. Hot tamale applied like a dream! I was really surprised, the formula is great and it also dries quickly. I applied three coats.

Pic in sun:

In shade:

I didn't like the colour at all:( I tried it with a matte top coat - a little better, but I still don't like it.

Luckily, the postman just brought a package, filled with a bunch of my firsts - a post on them will be posted today! :)
